the universe

by t.a. faust

childish universe
reading over my shoulder

always staring at strangers
don't you know that's rude?

judgey universe
criticizing my mirror
i'm rubber you're glue

hey there universe
what's with all the hubbub, bub?
just take a breather

Én mindig szeretlek
by t.a. faust

memory flashes
bright instants from history
minutes like seasons

circus one

by t.a. faust

                                                                                     teetering fearful
balancing                      poles and people
                                                           ringmaster laughing

clowns turning           backward
              rubber cigars exploding
tricks                                                 twixt                                   tricksters                  tease

wild animals roar
                                   great                         trumpeting elephants
                                                                                                                                     pure cacophony

"lockdown"

heavy
by t.a. faust

rumbling storm rolling
gloomy clouds crying their tears
thunderclap echoes

waiting
by t.a. faust

moments passing slow
each one longer than the last
anticipation

shower
by t.a. faust

you can hear it fall
slapping the stones below you
torrential downpour

goodnight irene

by t.a. faust

nevermind the rain
wet clothes are temporary
try to enjoy it

we've nowhere to be
the relative time is now
revel in madness

nevermind the wind
our umbrella's back at home
waiting unbroken

no running away
our fears cannot control us
this is our moment

nevermind the storm
the city needs a scrubbing
a fresh start again

let's find our own way
whether or not, we'll weather
nature is our guide

  o solo mio
by t.a. faust

a beautiful night
the gondolier sings softly
stars sparkling silver

music filters near
a restaurant full of life
warm laughter within

graceful gondola
be gentle while we're floating
these silent waters

simply simplicity

by t.a. faust

skeletal skitters
some sun-baked scorpion steps
seeking shade, shelter

sour, sinister Sol
sizzling sand shifting sideways
skin slowly searing

cerulean skies
sifting sunlight, silver streams
slivers so sullen

perfect chemistry

by t.a. faust

some carbon-based things
have a unique reaction
with certain others

they create, destroy
re-arranging molecules
a new beginning

acids and bases
reacting to each other
could be dangerous

our magnetic bonds
cannot hold us together
indefinitely

i lack the knowledge
to explain why this happens
but it still... happens

what is science?

by t.a. faust

perhaps this is odd
my question of our science
but have you ever...

really looked at it?
i mean really, really looked
compared to before

the before when life,
reality, was different?
belief was different

it seemed so correct
logical and true to them
just as to us now

we believe so sure
in our 'science' as logic
but just take a look

we're probably wrong
just as everyone before
statistically

the goodbye

by t.a. faust

in my memory
she'll always be standing there
watching me leaving

she stands out stark-white
her dress glows pure in the dark
angelic vision

as i walk away
i feel her watching me still
thinking who knows what

my heart longs to turn
to run back and clutch her tight
never letting go

but these feet don't stop
they keep going farther on
until the corner

i stop and look back
one final wave of farewell
then away i go

a day without sunshine

by t.a. faust

two clowns in progress
painting a new face of white
lifting the rain clouds

they share their make-up
helping each other with care
creating, laughing

this comic duo
giddy children playing games
energetic friends

two clowns in progress
teaching ourselves the new craft
an exploration

The Walk

by t.a. faust

fingers slip in mine
a shy smile slowly exchanged
my heart fluttering

palm to palm, we walk
sharing our silence as one
lost in hidden thoughts

rain interrupts us
we release our umbrella
a private shelter

we slow to a stop
the time of separation
a little heartbreak

as we part our ways
our eyes make their promises
quiet agreement

challenge
by t.a. faust

Bravery's funny.
It's never there when you want,
always when you need.

Sizing myself up,
I reach for the Impossible
and grab Unlikely.

pushing and pulling
force applied against more force
sharing energy

Gravity

by t.a. faust

strong sticky substance
gluing my feet to the earth
chewing gum of life

heavy weights pressing
holding my shoulders down firm
pressure to stay put

depth of mind and heart
sincerity in my words
the honest, hard truths

Tango In The Rain

by t.a. faust

the music draws us
pulls us from our other lives
gathering a crowd

scattered chairs, tables
laughter bubbling among friends
perfectly social

the dancers do so
they swirl around the courtyard
smiling one and all

latin memories
reminiscence of romance
a dream of dreaming

all ages dancing
young, old, experienced, not
brought forth with music

as the band changes
one song to another beat
pitter patter, rain

some scatter quickly
others stand strong, it will pass
but downpour begins

two dancers return
a red umbrella held high
the dance continues

alone they spin now
proud and utterly romance
smiling with their hearts

"one final song friends"
musicians calling an end
with scattered applause

the couple dances
rain slowing to a drizzle
feet slowing in time

as the crowd departs
still laughing, still with big smiles
they remain waiting

a red umbrella
marks the moment as it rests
the future begins
